Working in War
The Commander works long hours into the night. Is there even a night anymore? The smoke is so thick there is never a day; just a dim twilight. The soldiers train in the distance, or perhaps they are engaging an enemy force that came too close once again.
His assistants and squad leaders walk about, checking and rechecking supplies, the men, plans, enemy movement, anything and everything. The ship's engine roars quietly under his desk.
Sleeping, the beast is quiet, til the next battle.
